Shadow Raider

Shadow Raiders are sometimes-Decepticon mercenaries from the Age of Extinction portion of the movie continuity family.

When Lockdown needs someone to run things around his big ship, he is lucky to have an army of literally faceless Shadow Raiders. They would regularly be dispatched to eliminate any intruders aboard his ship. However, they generally get shot at.

Multiple Shadow Raiders and Steeljaws were present when Harold Attinger requested an audience with Lockdown regarding Cemetery Wind's failure in capturing Optimus Prime in the Arctic.

When the Autobots, along with Cade Yeager and Shane Dyson, infiltrated the ship in search of Optimus, many Shadow Raiders were seen patrolling the ship and deploying orb-like drones to search for intruders in narrow spaces. Several of them were killed in a skirmish with the two humans. When they and Tessa Yeager manages to escape the ship, Shadow Raiders chased after them, Bumblebee, and Crosshairs aboard their fighters. However, everyone who was airborne either crashed or got shot down.

When Lockdown discovered that a portion of the ship containing Optimus and the Dinobots was missing, the Shadow Raiders were present on the bridge of the ship when he ordered the ship to turn around and return to Earth. Age of Extinction

When Sojex managed to escape captivity, the Shadow Raiders attempted to assist Lockdown in recapturing her. However, they were told to stand down by their captain. Locked In!

Shadow Raiders were enemy units who served under Lockdown and Galvatron. There were four types of those bots: Scout, Gunner, Beamer, & Miner. Together, they would charge at the Autobots in an effort to destroy them. Destroying Shadow Raiders would cause them to drop Energon Packs. Transformers: Age of Extinction (mobile game)

Rise of the Dark Spark (console)

Shadow Raiders are shown helping their boss Lockdown protect the Dark Spark. They even got some brutes on their side that are swiftly destroyed by Grimlock. The surviving Shadow Raiders are said to have been chased off by the Dinobot. Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark

Studio Series Shadow Raider is an orange and black redeco and new head retool of Lockdown, transforming from robot to licensed Lamborghini Aventador and back. The figure features a headsculpt based on Lockdown's masked appearance (rather than the on-screen Shadow Raiders), which can be swapped onto Studio Series Lockdown to recreate the character's masked appearance if one wishes due to the two toys sharing the same size of ball joint on their necks. Shadow Raider also comes with a new weapon accessory based on the device Lockdown used to remove Ratchet's spark in Age of Extinction, which can also be wielded by Lockdown. The packaging also includes a cardboard backdrop of a hangar within the Knight Ship.

As with the original mold, exercise caution while swiveling the upper elbow joint as it was molded in translucent plastic: It can snap off if not done carefully.

Notes

• The Shadow Raiders went unnamed in the film itself and all contemporary media, with this wiki using the ad hoc placeholder "Mercenary" until the release of the Studio Series toy designated a proper name.
• The orange vehicle deco of the Studio Series Shadow Raider is based on a stock paintjob for the Lamborghini Aventador, featured prominently in marketing material for the car.
