"You're not Galvatron!"

Paradron Medics hail from the planet Paradron where a group of pacifist Autobots settled while trying to escape the Great War. As such, they are all likely cowardly peaceniks who'd sooner be shot in the face than defend themselves. They all share Arcee's body-type in a green deco, but without the shoulder-thingies. Each of them carries an energon infuser as part of their standard medical equipment.[1]

The Transformers cartoon

[edit]

During an outer space battle with the Autobots, Cyclonus and Scourge found themselves defeated and left unconscious on the hidden world of Paradron. There they were then taken in by a community of pacifist refugees from Cybertron. Near the fountains flowing with energon, the two Decepticons were nursed back to health by a pair of Paradron Medics. Upon regaining consciousness, Cyclonus and Scourge smacked the Medics in the face and tossed them to the side so that they could gorge themselves on energon. The Medics simply got up and left without saying a word. Fight or Flee

Combiner Wars

[edit]
  • Lifeline / Quickslinger / Fractyl / Scorponok (Multi-pack, 2016)
  • Accessories: "Energon infuser", "plasma projector", 2 "solid light surgical tools"
A redeco of the running change variant of Thrilling 30 Deluxe Class Arcee (fixing some fit/tolerance issues with the accessories), Combiner Wars Lifeline transforms into a Cybertronian sports coupe. She is "armed" with am "energon infuser" pistol, a larger "plasma projector" rifle, and a pair of clear-colorless "solid light surgical tools"; all four weapons each feature several universally-sized rectangular pegs that allow them to be tabbed into multiple matching ports in her fists, forearms, hips, shoulders, and the sides and rear of her car mode. Additionally, her two guns can store beneath her car mode, though this is not mentioned in her instructions. Thanks to an extra transformation joint in her upper thighs, her legs are very posable, and can even be crossed.
Also due to the nature of the mold, Lifeline is incapable of holding any 5 mm compatible accessory, plus she has Arcee's shoulder kibble, making her unique among the Paradron Medics, but limiting her cartoon accuracy for army-building additional Medics.
She was available in the fifth and final series of the Transformers Figure Subscription Service, originally meant to be the first release in the series packed with just the diminutive Quickslinger (whose weapon mode she cannot hold). However, the circumstances of Fun Publications losing the Transformers rights forced them to push up this series' release schedule, thus the pair came in a larger box along with the second planned set as well, Fractyl and Scorponok.

War for Cybertron: Earthrise

[edit]
  • Paradron Medics (Multi-pack, 2020)
A redeco of Earthrise Deluxe Class Arcee, Lifeline represents her planet, Paradron, as Encounter 1 of the Earthrise "Galactic Odyssey Collection". She transforms into her classic futuristic car mode and is armed with a colorless translucent "Energon infuser". Similar to Arcee, the back half of her waist isn't painted. Lifeline is also a shellformer, having her robot mode resting under a vehicle mode shell, which folds into a backpack for the transformation into her robot mode. Part of the backpack (consisting the rear half of her car mode) can be detached to act as a hover board, having molded-in ports for Lifeline's feet to plug into.
She was packed in with fellow redeco/retool medic Ratchet. Much like the rest of the "Galactic Odyssey Collection", she lacks an Earthrise ID number, and comes in a Selects-style box with a planet card featuring key details about the set's respective planet. This two-pack was exclusive to Amazon in the U.S. but was available at general retail in Hasbro's Asian markets such as Hong Kong.
This mold was also retooled to make War for Cybertron Trilogy Elita-1.

Merchandise

[edit]

Super Collection Figure

[edit]
A redeco of the Arcee Super Collection Figure figure, Paradron Medic is a rare "Secret Figure" in the line's eighth "Act", available at a presumed rate of one figure per every ten cases. (This ratio has not been officially confirmed for this wave, but has been confirmed for others.) It is unknown what figure in the wave -if any in specific- she replaced in the lucky case.
Thankfully the shoulder-armor bits are removable to make a more screen-accurate version if you like.
Extra-thankfully, a much more readily-available version of this figurine was released in the US (see below)...

Heroes of Cybertron

[edit]
I've had the bullets in my gun medically coated for the fastest possible injection of life-saving medicine!
  • Paradron Medic (2003)
The rare chase Paradron Super Collection Figure PVC figurine was released in large numbers in the second wave of Heroes of Cybertron. While the SCF was cast in solid white plastic, the Heroes release is cast in translucent blue plastic and nigh-completely painted over, with the back of the helm and optics left unpainted to provide a light-piping effect. Also notable is that her gun now has a black barrel, as opposed to the SCF's dark gray barrel, just like the two different Arcee releases.

Palisades

[edit]
Unpretty 2
  • Paradron Medic (Palisade statue, 2004)
A repaint of the earlier Palisades Arcee statue, inspired by a pin-up poster by Rob Armstrong.[3] The statue features looks-right-at-only-one-angle perspective and a face so flat you'd swear she'd flown into a window. It was limited to 300 pieces.
The sculpt is based on the Studio OX character model, with its obnoxious shoulder-armor rig.

Notes

[edit]
Probably buddies with Chromia White Version.
  • The Paradron Medic inspired the limited-edition Japanese "Ariel Paradron-Type" redeco of Energon Arcee. This toy was not a separate character, but just that series's Arcee (named "Ariel" in Japan) with a different color scheme.
  • The script of Dreamwave's first Micromasters issue called for a Paradron Medic to be visible on the landscape of Paradron, but she wasn't.
  • While the Kreon Paradron Medic's helmet is based upon the Ironhide helmet, it is smaller and more curved to better match her counterpart's head. As only one appeared in the comic so far, it is unclear if there are other Paradron Medics, or if this one is a single character in her own right.

Foreign names

[edit]
  • Japanese: Paradron no kangoshi (パラドロンの看護師, "Paradron nurse")
