Beast Wars: Uprising
Seawave served Banzai-Tron in the Builders' Navy during the Grand Uprising. They defended the Great Rust Sea from the Resistance Navy, trying to blockade the Yuss Straits to prevent maritime access to Iacon. Seawave and the Deep Sea Patrol coordinated their underwater attacks with Banzai-Tron's traditional naval engagement. Unfortunately, the Beast Upgrade made the Resistance adapted to underwater combat in ways a mere submarine alt mode could not. A collection of oxide sharks, m-rays and warwhales destroyed 95% of the Builders' subsea Micromasters. Derailment
Ask Vector Prime
In Aurex 105.08 Alpha, Seawave and Cradon had a falling out after they oppositely blamed the Autobots or Decepticons for the demise of Blue Max in a battle between Galaxy Convoy and Master Megatron. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/09/18
Toys
Generation 1
- Seawave (Micron, 2008)
- Seawave is a redeco of the Cybertron Giant Planet Team Mini-Con Deepdive, transforming into a submarine of undetermined model. He was only available in exclusive 2-packs of Boss coffee drink in Japan for a limited time, along with Cradon and "metallic" PVC mini-figurines of Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Starscream, one of the five items packed in each special 2-pack of cans.
- This mold was also used to make Astro-Sinker, who was also repurposed into Shattered Glass Submarauder, and Diveplane.
Notes
- Seawave and Cradon being Generation 1 characters was largely speculative for several years. There was nothing directly identifying them as belonging to a specific timeline, but as all of the other pack-ins were straight-up Generation 1 characters, well.
- In 2015, the Facebook edition of "Ask Vector Prime" would identify them as Unicron Trilogy characters while Beast Wars: Uprising the following year depicted Seawave and Cradon as Generation 1-based characters.
- Despite the three toys in the Giant Planet Team set being gang-molded (and thus the parts were cast for it), TakaraTomy never released the third mold from the set, the plane. Whether they were ever going to in the first place or not is unknown. Going by Seawave and Cradon's colors, the final toy would have been almost wholly bright blue. This was later referenced in the "Ask Vector Prime" entry about them.
- Seawave's gender was ambiguous until Beast Wars: Uprising made Seawave female.
