Great Convoy was at the head of the Convoy Council and had the final say in many decisions, including ordering the psychotically antisocial [[Big Convoy]] to mold a troop of new Maximal recruits. {{storylink|Big Convoy, Move Out}}
Acting on [[Vector Sigma]]'s behalf, Great Convoy tasked [[Big Convoy]] with training new [[Maximal]] cadets, with an initial mission to investigate [[Lio Convoy]]'s disappearance on [[Gaia]]. {{storylink|Big Convoy, Move Out}}


During an adventure on the planet [[Godbless]], the power of an [[Angolmois]] capsule, amplified by [[Saberback]]'s black magic, caused whoever approached it to see the god of their choice. The Maximals hallucinated the "[[god of the Maximals]]", who appeared as a gigantic Great Convoy (or possibly some other Councillor), which warded them away. A while after Big Convoy's unit began hunting [[Angolmois]] capsules, Great Convoy contacted Big Convoy that they were becoming impatient with the lack of progress in collection. When Great Convoy initially blamed and offered to replace the trainees, Big Convoy took sole responsibility for the delay and Great Convoy agreed to give him three days before obtaining another capsule before having an discussion about his ability to command. Great Convoy led an armada of Maximal warriors to Cybertron's defense, however, Unicron used his fiery energy form to destroy the entire Maximal armada. When negotiations with Unicron failed, Great Convoy sicced the fleet's full firepower on Unicron, but his state allowed him to absorb all of the energy and, in a fiery dragon form, annihilated the fleet. Great Convoy is a Maximal from the Beast Wars Neo portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Great Convoy (グレートコンボイ Gurēto Konboi) is one of the higher-ranking members of the Convoy Council, the ruling body on Cybertron tens of thousands of years into the future. He is the no-nonsense type and has little to no patience when it comes to disobedience. He also has some snazzy robes.

Great Convoy was later stationed at Maximal Army Central Headquarters, where he received reports of numerous incidents involving the Predacons across space. He tasked Lio Convoy's unit with preventing the Angolmois of Gaia from falling into Predacon hands. Demolish the Superdreadnought Tank!
