- The Decepticon Planes are a subgroup from the toyline portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Decepticon Planes are a subgroup of Decepticons. This designation was used primarily in reference to the toyline, and was not reflected as an official subgroup within the comics or animation. It was mostly used in the catalogues in contrast to the much larger Autobot Cars toy group.
The first two years of "Planes" were all redecos or retools of the same basic body type, the Diaclone F-15 toy. Characters with this body type are also known by the in-fiction moniker of Seeker.
The only two Planes not considered Seekers because of their radically different body types were Scourge and Cyclonus, both of whom were absorbed into the following year's Targetmaster assortment (even named "Targetmaster Decepticon Planes" in the 1987 Hasbro pack-in catalog).
Members include:

1984 releases
- Starscream — Air Commander
- Thundercracker — Warrior
- Skywarp — Warrior
1985 releases
The 1984 Planes were made available again in 1985.
1986 releases
Starscream and the 1985 Planes were made available again in 1986. Skywarp and Thundercracker were discontinued.
