Fiction
IDW Generation 1 continuity
Sky Reign was created during a disastrous Autobot raid on Galvatron's underwater base. In a display of power, Galvatron used his planet-sized Enigma of Combination to force Autobots and Decepticons into combining and sicced the resulting Sky Reign on Superion. It's Beginning To And Back Again With the aid of the Seeker clone combiners, Sky Reign got the upper hand on Superion, but Superion took control of the Earth-Enigma and disabled it, causing Sky Reign to separate. Unite Warriors
Sky Lynx, Wheeljack, Hound, Trailbreaker, and Ratchet were granted the ability to combine into Sky Reign when Vector Sigma reformatted their bodies so that they could rebuild and defend Cybertron. They formed the combiner to battle Grand Galvatron when he attacked Cybertron, with Sky Reign wielding Sky Lynx's beastly strength, Wheeljack's many and varied weapons, Hound's holograms, Trailbreaker's force fields, and the ability to regenerate from damage using Ratchet's medical unit. Sky Reign Chapter While he held his own against Grand Galvatron, Sky Reign was caught unawares and separated into his components when Megaempress blasted him with her fusion railgun. Moonheart then amputated their combiner joints, rendering them unable to recombine. Megatronia Chapter Vector Sigma later restored the joints so that Sky Reign could participate in the great combiner battle with Unicron. Assuming a quadrupedal mode, Sky Reign attempted to carry Optimus Maximus to Unicron, only to be blown out of the sky by the chaos-bringer's eye beams. Baldigus Chapter, Part Two
Toys
Generations

- Sky Lynx (Voyager, 2016)
- Hound (Deluxe, 2016)
- Smokescreen (Deluxe, 2016)
- Trailbreaker (Deluxe, 2016)
- Wheeljack (Deluxe, 2016)
- Protectobot Groove (Deluxe, 2016)
- Sky Reign is a combiner made up of four Deluxe Class figures (Hound, Smokescreen, Trailbreaker, Wheeljack) as limbs, a Voyager Class figure (Sky Lynx) as the torso, all as part of the Combiner Wars subline. As with the other combiners in the line, each deluxe toy can become an arm or a leg, and comes with weapons that can become hands or feet.
- The Hasbro release of Deluxe Groove markets him as an additional limb of Sky Reign, replacing Smokescreen; though Groove's original placement is as Defensor's right leg.
Unite Warriors

- Lynxmaster (Multi-pack, 2016-10-29)
- Japanese ID Number: UW-EX
- Accessories: Weapons/Combiner Extremities (3 normal for Hound, Wheeljack & Ratchet, 1 clawed for Trailbreaker's), 2 Axes, Knife-sword, Clamp weapon, two sword-rifles
- Takara's iteration of Combiner Wars Sky Reign is sold in a gift set including all five Autobots (with Ratchet replacing Smokescreen). He has numerous changes in deco to better match their component's appearances in the Generation 1 cartoon.
- Lynxmaster was released as a TakaraTomy Mall exclusive, with the preorders opened at Thursday, 9 June afternoon until Thursday, 30 June. It shipped 29 October.
Notes
- The infobox from the extended bio on the back of the comic book included with the Deluxe Class Trailbreaker figure in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and Asia states his subgroup as "Lynx King", presumably an early working name. (The infoboxes from the comics included with the Deluxe Smokescreen, Wheeljack, and Hound figures correctly state the subgroup as "Sky Reign".)
- Early sample packaging photography for the Legends Class Wreck-Gar figure pointed him out as part of this set, but, since there's no way to actually combine him with Sky Reign, the final product does not mention this.
- When he first appeared in the IDW comics, only the torso and head from the actual toy could be used: most of the 'bots that made up Sky Reign were off on the Lost Light at the time and poor Trailbreaker was dead!
