Fiction

Transformers (2007)

Colonel Sharp is in command of air operations. William Lennox and his team of soldiers are stationed at the base until they return to America. A boy named Mahfouz also spends time at the base, particularly with Lennox.

On the same day Lennox and his men return from an unknown mission, a mysterious MH-53 Pave Low helicopter flies towards the base. When the helicopter does not respond to communications attempts nor complies with orders to turn back, Col. Sharp dispatches two F-22 Raptors to intercept. One of the pilots identifies the helicopter as designation 4500X, which was a confirmed casualty a few months prior.

The Raptors escort the Pave Low in, allowing it to land on the base. Soldiers immediately form a security perimeter. As the radar crew in operations report that the helicopter is jamming their radar, Col. Sharp attempts radio communications again, ordering the Pave Low pilot to power down and have his crew step out or be killed.

The Pave Low... stopped its main rotor, but what followed was not quite what Colonol Sharp had in mind.

SOCCENT Base was utterly destroyed in the following confrontation with the giant robot previously known as the Pave Low. The robot appeared impervious to all weaponry fired at it, and yet showed no strain in tossing tanks around like toys and disintegrating transport aircraft. The robot located the main computer core and began hacking the US Military intranet, achieving record download speeds as it assimilated gigabytes of classified information before Colonol Sharp physically severed the core's network hardlines with a fire axe.

The robot then proceeded to finish destroying the base.

Later, at the Pentagon in the United States capital city, Secretary of Defense John Keller personally heads the investigation into the base attack.

As of the opening brief to the case, there was no evidence of survivors.
