This article is about the Mini-Con. For the IDW Generation 1 comic story with a rather appropriate title, see Cause and Effect.
Effect is an Autobot-allied Mini-Con from the Energon portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
He has a brother named "Cause".

Effect (エフェクト Efekuto) is one of the many energy-enhancing Mini-Cons who assist the Autobots in searching out deposits of raw energon ore and protecting them from the Decepticons. He is part of the Sky Scorcher Mini-Con Team alongside Blitz and Seeker.

Toys

  • Effect (Micron Booster, 2004)
    • Booster ID number: 4
Effect uses the Air Military Mini-Con Team Gunbarrel mold, transforming into a bomber plane of undetermined model. He also has a third six-barreled cannon mode. He was available only as part of the third Micron Booster assortment, in a blind-packed, single-toy box.
This mold was also used to make Combusta, Hyakurai, and Sky Lynx.

Notes

Effect's proto coloration (left).
  • Early promotional images of the set showed Effect in a different color scheme than what was eventually produced; red and pink is remarkably different from the blue and white Effect ended up with. It is unknown if this early coloration for the Team was even possible, due to the gang-molding process the Mini-Con Teams were made with.
  • No, we haven't sussed out just what the thought process behind his name is yet. It doesn't really match with the names of his "teammates" Seeker and Blitz, nor does it seem to have any connection to the source-mold's Japanese name "Glide". Your guess is as good as ours.
