[edit]On ABN, Rook hands over the latest segment to new reportor Punch. An eyewitness caught sight of two Autobots, Skyfall and Zetar, in an unauthorized meeting with an unknown and oddly familiar Decepticon. The diminutive Mini Spy explains that he saw them outside Iacon, and shows the footage he just happened to obtain to the viewers. Notes
[edit]Transformers references
[edit]- Several new characters show up this strip, including:
- Punch/Counterpunch, based on his positive-universe counterpart in the colors of Generation 1 Doubledealer.
- Sprocket, who doesn't show up "on-screen", since he's the cameraman.
- The Mini-Spy, based on the positive-universe "buggy" type mini-spy in the red coloration seen in the pre-Transformers Mech Soldier release of the mini-spies.
- Skyfall, based on his positive-universe counterpart in the colors of Generation 1 Banzai-Tron.
- Zetar, based on his positive-universe counterpart in "evil" colors.
- Several easter eggs seen behind Mini-Spy include:
- Generation 1 Reflector's camera mode (based on the toy).
- The rat mode of the Japanese-exclusive Beast Wars Transmetal "puzzle" Rattrap.
- A Jungle Planet Cyber Key.
- The Mighty Muggs Optimus Prime figure.
- The Mini-Spy notes he saw Counterpunch "nearby Iacon-real nearby", in reference to the line uttered by positive-universe Punch/Counterpunch from the Transformers episode "The Rebirth, Part 1". ("Fine. You deal with my Autobot counterpart. I've heard he's nearby...real nearby.")
