Fiction

Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity

Robotmasters

Pack-in manga

Optimus Prime and his Autobot soldiers, R-Blade and Mirage, assisted the United Nations with work on the Scramble City project. Their efforts were interrupted by the arrival of the Predacon Megatron, who had claimed control of the Decepticons from his namesake, including the Cyberjets Wingstun and Air Hunter. The New Battle Begins!

Online manga

At Autobot City, R-Blade and the Autobots were confronted by Beast Megatron, new leader of the Decepticons. His warriors Air Hunter and Wrecker Hook brought the war to the Autobots' doorstep. Clash! The Two Leaders The Decepticons only follow the strong, and Megatron proved he was strong to Air Hunter and Wingstun by beating Starscream senseless. Change in Command: The Usurper Decepticon

R-Blade was targeted by Air Hunter, Wrecker Hook, and Psycho-Orb due to the sensitive information he carried. In a Catch-22, the Autobot courier could not fight back to defend his info without damaging it in the process. Luckily, the newly arrived Optimus Primal from the Blastizone saved him from the attackers. To War! Optimus Primal

Looking for a way back to power, Starscream provided Air Hunter, Wingstun and the other Decepticons with new Arsenal Force weaponry. He tried to use their power against Megatron, but failed. The weapons still worked, though, so kudos. Starscream Grins 3 Times...

Starscream and the Cyberjets were confronted by the latest escapee from the Blastizone, Victory Leo. Bonds Stronger than Steel The Decepticons were also joined by a powerful ally, though, with the former Autobot Cyberjet named X-Gunner. Defend the Solitarium! X-Gunner was obsessed with victory and winning, and challenged the Autobot Cyberjets to a race rather than an actual battle. He lost to his former comrade R-Blade, and left in disgrace. Through Sea and Sky: The World's Fastest Race

Air Hunter had a front row seat to the combined power of the Autobot commanders being unleashed. Together, the 4 Great Supreme Commanders Air Hunter also soon learned of the return of the original Megatron. Strategic Meeting: The Mysterious New Warrior But, in the final battle, even the return of Megatron and the vast quantities of solitarium harvested by the Decepticons could not hold back the Autobots forever. And Then

Ask Vector Prime

When the Cyberjets were summoned from the Metrowars to the past, Primus plucked Wind Sheer to serve as one of his Children during the Universe War. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/08/23

G-2 story pages and pack-in manga

Mmmm...well, EXCELLENT! Who are those new Predacons?

In the next generation of the Cybertronian Wars, Megatron organized the Cyberjets to his cause. Skyjack demonstrated his stealth abilities by raining fire down upon Optimus Prime and Volt. Space Case used trickery to lure the Autobots into a trap. And Hooligan turned his multi-shower missiles on Optimus Prime himself, blasting him in the back. He also took to the roads, riding Road Pig into battle against the Autobots.

The Decepticons weren't the only Cyberjets, though. Aero Raid helped Road Rocket escaped from Decepticon pursuers. Strafe provided back-up for Volt by divebombing Megatron in battle. And Jetfire saved Electro from the Decepticons after he was captured. G-2 manga

The Hasbro bios for the Autobot Cyberjets indicate that they are the G1 Autobot characters in new bodies. While Takara's Japanese releases used the same decoes, in Japanese continuity they were former Decepticons who switched sides; hence G2 Jetfire is the same as G1, given a bit of retcon.

Comic Bom Bom G-2 manga

Megatron wanted Earth's forestonite, and the Cyberjets prepared to gather it for him. Hooligan, Skyjack, and Space Case staged an attack on a human air show near Mount Fuji. Electro held them off until Optimus Prime arrived to shut down the Decepticons in force. The New Battle!!

Descent into Evil

The Cyberjet named Ricochet worked under Ironhide in the hunt for Deathsaurus and his Virulent Clones. Descent into Evil

The Cyberjets are small sized jets with high poseability, intricate transformations, and pressure-launched missiles. They were among the earliest fully-poseable transformers, prefiguring the Beast Wars line to come. They also feature light-piping in their heads. While this feature is used on larger toys to give them "light-up" eyes, due to their small size, the Cyberjets seem to have illuminated faces which lack the usual facial features. The Cyberjets were also the first Transformers appearance for the "pressure-launch" style missile launchers.
There are three different Cyberjet molds, each being released twice during Generation 2 — once as an Autobot and once as a Decepticon.
Takara planned to extend their Generation 2 line by re-releasing the Cyberjets once more, now retooled to feature new armored limbs and larger weapons; these versions were never released.
The molds have been redecoed several times in subsequent lines.

Both the Robotmasters and Universe lines had one unique new deco for each mold, and Timelines Ricochet was a fifth new color scheme for the Hooligan mold. See "Notes" below.
