Published between 1987 and 1988, The Headmasters manga acted as a suppliment to its corresponding TV series just like the mangas which came before it. However, the Headmasters manga has a few notable deviations.
Firstly, it features the Targetmasters Artfire and Ricochet, who weren't present in the television series episode Miraculous Warriors, Targetmasters (Part 1), when the Targetmasters were granted their unique abilities. Many years down the line, their origins were explained via eHobby toy bios.
Secondly, the manga features a completely different story explaining Sixshot and Daniel's budding friendship which would seem to contradict the one seen in My Friend Sixshot!.
