According to Vector Prime, Reverse Convoy was an Autobot vassal of the Convoy Council in the G1 World. His peers included Lio Convoy, Fire Convoy, and Galaxy Convoy. It was the council who declared no Cybertronian would ever leave the Milky Way Galaxy after the disastrous encounter with the Ammonites, to avoid attracting the attention of "lions, tigers and bears" (oh my!), as Megalo Convoy put it. When the stolen ship Terrastar left the Milky Way Galaxy in contravention of this, the council unanimously ordered Astral Knight to take his colony ship, the Hyperborea, after it.
