The live-action film series is an umbrella term that refers to series of theatrical feature films directed by Michael Bay beginning in 2007, including the vast amount of ancillary fiction created for it.
At this time (Jan-14-09) a second film in the series, titled Revenge of the Fallen, is slated for release on June 24, 2009. A third film is tentatively planned [1] but its production is presumably contingent on the performance of the second film and availability of the principals involved.

- The mainline continuity consists of the films and in-continuity comics.
- A second continuity was established in Titan Magazine's Transformers Comic issue 9 and continues to issue 26. This continuity follows events after Megatron won the battle of Mission City.
- Micro-continuities also exist in the form of video games, some toy bios, and certain comic story threads that are incompatible with each other.
