Peter Whitley is a human soldier from the Marvel UK portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Captain Peter Whitley is an officer in the British armed forces, reporting to Major Dawes.

Fiction

Marvel Comics continuity

When Stansham Castle was bombed by three unidentified jets, Captain Whitley was called in to investigate. He found that while the first bomb exploded, leaving only a small crater, the second had become buried deep under the castle. Notifying Roy Harker, the museum's curator, to keep people away, he had his men dig for the second bomb but they were unprepared for what they found beneath the castle—an alien spacecraft!

Whitley called in Major Dawes to take command of the situation but before he got there, a panel opened in the buried spaceship and a robot emerged. As Whitley and Harker ran for their lives, Major Dawes' jeep arrived and he and his driver were only just able to scramble clear before the robot destroyed it. A second robot appeared and the two began to fight. As the humans watched, they were quickly joined by another spacecraft, the other two jets, two robot birds and a Porsche that disgorged the curator's missing son before itself transforming and joining the fray. When Sammy said one of the robots told him they should clear the area, Captain Whitley agreed and together they retreated from the robots' battlefield. Man of Iron

Notes

  • After Jazz destroyed the Man of Iron's ship, the resulting crater was filled in and the area cleaned up by "nameless authorities". Most likely Whitley and Dawes were involved in keeping the matter secret.
