Lipole are aliens in the Generation 1 continuity family.

Lipoles are small, flying, bat-like creatures, apparently native to Jupiter's moon of Io. They can transform into explosive missiles and fling themselves at predators.

Blurr and Wheelie crashed on Io while bringing Metroplex's transformation cog to Earth. A swarm of lipoles attacked them. Marissa Faireborne went to investigate the crash, but when she arrived on Io, the lipoles transformed into missile mode and destroyed her ship.
