The Fly is an Earth robot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

In David Cronenberg's universe, this is what cancer is.

The Fly is a hideous transforming insectoid robot. He appears to be a scientist, going by his big metallic lab coat, though exactly what he creates with his intellect (telepods, perhaps?) is unknown. He can transform into a giant housefly.

Toys

Generation 1

A transforming toy of the Fly was proposed in the 80s to be part of a "Vintage Horror Movie Series". The series never made it past production art, unfortunately, though said art could be found in the Deluxe edition of Transformers Generations.
