1912 — Paramount Pictures, the company that co-produces and distributes the live-action film series with DreamWorks is founded.
1930 — Edgar Fruitier (Canadian French voice of Doctor Arkeville, Grimlock, Predaking, and Sparkplug Witwicky) is born.
1984 — Marvel Comics' Transformers #1 hits newsstands (with a cover date of September). This was the very first Transformers product made available... so Happy Anniversary, Transformers!
1999 — Ed Gilbert (voice of Generation 1 Blitzwing, Superion, and Thrust) dies of lung cancer at age 67.
2001 — The Original Transformers—Heroes: The Rebirth and Villains: The Ultimate Doom are released on VHS and DVD in the U.S. by Kid Rhino.
