| The name or term "Lugnut" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Lugnut (disambiguation). |
- Lugnut is a Decepticon from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Lugnut isn't the most brilliant tactical mind Cybertron has ever seen. In a faction full of brilliant scientists, cunning schemers and devious warlords, Lugnut's processing capacity doesn't rank anywhere near the top. Rather, Lugnut possesses a quality that's exceedingly rare in Decepticons: loyalty. Unswerving, unthinking, blind loyalty to the glorious Megatron and the Decepticon leader's vision for Cybertron. Couple this with an armament that makes the charging behemoth an unstoppable force on the battlefield, and it isn't hard to see why Megatron finds no fault with Lugnut's brutish methodology. In particular, the explosive point-singularity generators in Lugnut's immense fists put fear into many an Autobot.

At some undetermined point in time, Lugnut stood in close proximity to Frenzy and Scourge. A New Battle!
A nano-virus that afflicted most Autobots save the Targetmasters and the Headmasters required Ricochet to lead a team to Nebulos for an anti-virus. However, the nano-virus was merely a ploy by the Decepticons to draw out the Targetmasters and Headmasters to abduct their Nebulan partners, so when the Autobots arrived on Nebulos, Lugnut and several other Decepticons were waiting for them! Once their leader, Straxus, was singled out and defeated, Lugnut saw the writing on the wall and advocated for a retreat. The Fierce Fighting on Planet Nebulos

Lugnut was one of the many Decepticons at the Battle of Autobot City. He was shot in the head by Warpath, but it seemed to cause only minimal damage. Rodimus vs. Cyclonus
IDW Generation 1 continuity

At the dawn of the war, Lugnut served Megatron's growing insurgency. He stood guard one day as Megatron welcomed a visitor, Hot Rod. Rise

Millions of years later, Lugnut was part of Lockdown's crew of Metrotitan hunters. After they invaded a Lost Light where almost the whole crew had been paralysed by one of Brainstorm's little mishaps to retrieve a piece of Metroplex tracking purposes, he was seen to stand beside "Blitzving" while Trailguy made threats against their boss, before retreating when Lockdown crumbled. Toys
Transformers (2010)

- Lugnut (Voyager Class, 2011)
- Accessories: Missile
- Part of the fourth wave of Transformers Voyager Class toys (which is the first wave of the "Reveal the Shield" subline imprint's Voyager Class toys), Lugnut transforms into a jet bomber whose design is a loose amalgamation of elements from World War II propeller bombers, particularly the B-24 Liberator and B-17 Flying Fortress. He sports a shark-tooth deco on the cabin, similar to Animated Atomic Lugnut. He also has a Rubsign on his left wing-tip, and the "LU-6" and "NU-7" codes on his wings and tail-fin are references to his name.
- He has five eyes and an opening mouth, all of which receive light-piping, while his fingers and cockpit cannons are articulated. There are a whopping 21 clip-joint rungs spread across his shoulders, legs, forearms, wingtips, and tail.
- Both fists are spring-loaded extending sections, allowing him to perform the Punch of Kill Everything. This feature is present in vehicle mode, wherein activating the extension reveals a battery of (sculpted) missiles. His tail section has a spring-loaded missile launcher that can swing down in vehicle mode, or become an over-the-shoulder launcher in robot mode.
- The toy was later repurposed as the Aligned version of Lugnut.

- Decepticon Lugnut (Voyager Class, 1-29-2011)
- Japanese ID number: UN-14
- Accessories: Missile
- Released in Japan as part of the second wave of United toys, TakaraTomy's "Decepticon Lugnut" is a redeco of "Reveal the Shield" Lugnut, being primarily dark green, with metallic purple paint on his head, tampographed Decepticon insignias on his wings and chest, an additional Decepticon logo being tampographed on the chest, and with the rubsign and alphanumerical codes being removed.

- This version of Lugnut has spring-loaded fists that are excessively prone to jamming. The peg on the sliding hand section to which the long spring within the arm connects is too thin, meaning the spring dislodges randomly. This is easily fixable by unscrewing the arm, then squeezing the spring with pliers until it is secure on the peg... if the spring didn't end up bent and cause a lot more problems because of the jam, that is.
- The stock photography to the left depicts Lugnut having large swaths of metallic purple paint that were mostly not present on the final product, with only the metallic paint on his aforementioned head being retained.
Notes
- Lugnut is based on the Animated character of the same name.
Foreign names
- Japanese: Lugnut (ラグナッツ Ragunattsu)
