This character has no official visual representation in any Transformers product or media... yet, at least.

Dominus Trannis is a villainous combiner.

He is most often formed from:

  • Astrotrain
  • Steamhammer
  • Loco

Fiction

Ask Vector Prime

Vector Prime brought up Dominus Trannis as an example of a combiner formed from Transformers with train alternate modes. He also explained that in most universes, he is the result of Railracer being reformatted by the Robo-Smasher; in at least one universe, he was brought down by Defensor, who tried in vain to save the minds of his components. Notes

  • An abandoned OTFCC 2004-exclusive redeco of 2001 Robots in Disguise Rail Racer would have been named "Dominus Trannis". Since one of his components would have been Astrotrain, the combined form likely wouldn't have resulted in being the same character as the original Trannis, but his name was indeed the inspiration. The other components would have been named "Steamhammer" and either "Loco" or "Cowcatcher." Both Steamhammer and Cowcatcher went on to inspire names for later official toy releases.
