Gottlieb is an ocean-side town on the planet Pequod. It has a thriving vacation tourist trade, and city officials who aren't going to let that lucrative trade be threatened by any pesky killer monsters.

- Gottlieb is named for Carl Gottlieb, the Oscar-winning screenwriter who re-drafted the film Jaws during production.
