This article is about the evil Autobot reporter. For her heroic counterpart, see Andromeda (G1). For a list of other meanings, see Andromeda (disambiguation).
Andromeda is an evil Autobot reporter from the Shattered Glass continuity family.

Andromeda is one of the news anchors for ABN, and can be seen filling in for Rook (with whom she shares a very unfriendly rivalry) on Around Cybertron whenever he's not available. She's just as fond of bloodthirsty ambulance-chasing as the rest of the ABN news crew.

Her name is sometimes shortened to Romy.

There's a coup against Optimus Prime?! Everybody with me! I want video of their corpses!Andromeda, "Around Cybertron"

Fiction

Shattered Glass

Andromeda filled in for Rook while he was "on vacation" after accidentally revealing the news of Megatron's demise to Optimus Prime. She was going to interview Mirage, former bank robber-turned-Ratchet-experiment, but then she heard the news that there was a coup being attempted against Optimus Prime. She ran off to cover the story, leaving Mirage feeling abandoned, and Rook free to take his beloved newsdesk back from her. Around Cybertron #7

When Rook needed a Decepticon expert to report on the latest news story, he invoked Andromeda's name...to ask if she agreed that Punch was their expert. He then cut her off before she finished insulting him for the fake-out. But it turned out that Punch had defected to DBN, leaving Rook stuck with "Romy". Around Cybertron #8

Notes

  • Shattered Glass Andromeda's appearance in Around Cybertron #7 is the first time an incarnation of Andromeda has been shown as more than just a head. She thus presumably has the same body design that TransTech Andromeda would, but with colors loosely based on Generation 1 Boss, and Gothic "makeup".[1]
  • She transforms into a "Super-Charged Chase Vehicle" shaped somewhat like the alt-mode of Cybertron Override.[1]
