A sociable fellow, Bud works for a drilling company on a dig site in Eden, Texas. He's fond of a beer, it seems.

Bud worked alongside Hiro, listening to music on his tape deck, who secretly considered him a "sweating, grasping creature, full of his own self importance and secretly bemoaning his own worthless life". At the end of the day, still blissfully unaware that his colleague's music system was actively considering killing him, Bud asked Hiro if he wanted to come to the bar that evening. Hiro declined, admitting that his previous visit to the bar had been enough for him. Spotlight: Soundwave
