Shred is an Autobot-turned-Decepticon-turned-Raptoricon from the Of Masters and Mayhem portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
I will defeat the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles!

For Shred, everything is an adventure. Even in the middle of a brutal guerrilla war on a backwater planet, she manages to be optimistic and excitable about... well... everything, really. Of course, pretty much everything is exciting compared to her old life as a low-ranking Autobot techie in Iacon. After learning about a pair of Decepticon mercenaries named Thrash and Slice, she actually got to work with them! How cool is that? You know what's even cooler? She got to stick around even after they cut ties with their employers, hanging out an uncharted jungle world! Sure, the neighbors are a little unpleasant, but hey, at least her new life is never boring!

And her new, organic dromaeosaur mode? It's ultra gear.

Either she's roaring because she's about to attack or squawking because she's laying an egg.

During the Great War, Shred was a humble Autobot techie, who broke up her dreary life by illicitly monitoring Decepticon frequencies. When she learned about the exploits of Thrashclaw and Slice on the secret Decepticon forums they frequented, she tracked down the duo and begged to join them. The two Decepticon reluctantly acquiesced and Shred became the third member of their small mercenary crew.

The trio found work with the ruthless criminal syndicate known as the Kolkular Powerbase, who were all-too-eager to get their hands on various illicit treasures and exotic technologies. To this end, the three mercenaries were dispatched to the uncharted jungle world of Chicxulania. To other Decepticons, this voyage was nothing more than an ordinary reconnaissance mission; to the trio of Decepticons, however, they had been sent to the planet to track down and secure a mysterious energy signature for their employers.

Immediately after arrival, the three Decepticons quickly realized that Chicxulania was not an ordinary world: alien creatures, radiation from massive reserves of artificially seeded "greenergon", and hostile insectoid natives known as the Vespoids all posed a danger to the Cybertronians. Their search eventually led them to a massive, abandoned research complex of alien origin. There, the Decepticons found Gnash, a Cybertronian who had been kidnapped and experimented on, leaving her with a powerful but malformed body and uncontrollable feral impulses. Not wanting to return to the machinations of the Powerbase, the Decepticons opted to take on Gnash as a fourth member of the team. While exploring the complex, the Decepticons discovered samples of advanced technology that worked to seamlessly integrate organic and mechanical systems. Though not of Transformer origin, the Cybertronians found that they could apply this technology to their own systems, granting them the ability to adopt powerful technorganic beast modes shielded from radiation. To deal with the energon radiation, all four of them adopted new forms based on the native creatures and became the Raptoricons. Their starship, the Velocity, became their new home as the four "went native". Over the years, they would clash repeatedly with the Vespoids in a series of skirmishes, never able to discern the motives behind the random attacks of the aliens.

Shortly after Thunder Mayhem destroyed Cybertron, Fractyl's stasis pod accidentally crashed on their planet, provoking the attention of the Vespoids who sought to offline the marooned Predacon. Shred convinced her comrades to rescue him from the sacrificial altar, and after a brief raid on the aliens she introduced herself to the confused newcomer as the Transformers made their way back to the Raptoricon's base. Arriving at the Velocity, the Raptoricons sought to interrogate the newcomer, but this was cut short by another Vespoid attack. Shred suffered severe damage in the battle and was forced into stasis lock, while Gnash was taken hostage by the aliens.

While Thrashclaw and Slice went off to confront the aliens, Fractyl — after first breaking the truth that Cybertron was no more — offered to research the connection between the aliens and the strange "greenergon." Shred kept an eye on him, and salvation came when the scientist realized that the Vespoids weren't inherently malicious; they were drawn to greenergon because it was their food source, and their abduction of Gnash was a misguided attempt to help the mutated Transformer. Armed with this knowledge, Fractyl used the onboard "Beast Warrior" technology to reformat himself into a pterosaur, and Shred came along for the ride as Fractyl used his new beast mode to convince a local flock of pterosaurs to help deliver a massive peace offering of greenergon to the Vespoid's nest. The group safely delivered the Greenergon, and Shred was happy to be reunited with a healthy Gnash.

When Impactor and Counterpunch arrived, following Fractyl's distress beacon, the Transformers used a universal translator to ratify a proper truce between the Raptoricons and the Vespoid queen, establishing a greenergon mine so that the Vespoids could feed in peace. Although Impactor offered them a ride off-planet, Thrashclaw and the other Raptoricons declined, as they were more than happy to remain on their adopted homeworld. Life Finds a Way
