My apologies if this is in the wrong section of the wiki, but this is a genuine question I had, that I couldn't seem to find an answer to. I don't want to seem like I'm asking this question for malicious purposes, it's been something I've been thinking about for a fair amount of time.-- [[User:ZodiacLegacy911]] ([[User talk: ZodiacLegacy911]]) 16:08, 17 September 2020 (EDT)

Help Pages Lost in the Wilderness

This help page, like so many others, would be much more useful if something -- anything -- actually linked to it.

Seriously. This is a big, big problem on this wiki: help pages are nigh impossible to find. Whoever's set these things up needs to chain the damn things together. -- Repowers 15:17, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

I set this page up to meet a specific need. I'd be happy to link it into an exiwting structure... if there was an existing structure. We have 3 separate fairly-stubby Help/intro pages. Merging them has been on the collective to-do list for more than a year. -Derik 15:49, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I keep meaning to get around to that and not quite doing it. The original help structure was written almost entirely by me and is contained in just a handful of pages in the "Help" namespace, linked together by Help:Contents which is linked to in the sidebar of every page on the wiki. Since then some older "Transformers Wiki" namespace pages were rediscovered and worked on, and others have been built. But there is no unifying structure for the new stuff, and a lot of it is redundant with the Help pages. I will try to recommit myself to sorting it out. Does anybody have an opinion on which namespace we should use? I think all the policy/help stuff should be in the same namespace. I personally prefer "Help" because it's short, but I'm not deeply attached to it. Considering the Community portal is stuck in "Transformers Wiki" namespace, perhaps that would be better. Unless we can move it. I don't really know. --Steve-o 21:15, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
That reminds me... Weren't we going to change the name of this place from Teletraan-1: The Transformers Wiki to Teletraan I: The Transformers Wiki or Teletraan-I: The Transformers Wiki to match the correct spelling? --FortMax 21:50, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
We cant' do that, you have to put in a request for a wikia tech to do that.
I think we're planning to put in such a request in order to change our local timezone (Rhode Island instead of Switzerland or whatever,) figure out which spelling we prefer, make a note on my User-talk page and I'll add that to the request when it goes thru. (Note: I vote for just 'Teletraan I,' no subtitle, but i don't expect to win that.) -Derik 22:31, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Sandboxes

What are they for? This page doesn't tell me specifically. My toy wishlist thing got deleted because that's not what they're for. Item42 04:45, 5 June 2010 (EDT)

Articles in progress and information that will be useful to the wiki. This page needs to be updated really, to take into account things like this which we've discussed. --abates 05:23, 5 June 2010 (EDT)
You mean, the things that had no consensus? About the only thing we agreed on was placing a limit on how often you can edit your userpage.
(I do think some notes on that and on sandboxes would be good, though.) --Jeysie 07:23, 5 June 2010 (EDT)

Moving

The article does not talk about the rules of moving your page, could it please be added? Tfus183crosscut (talk) 15:52, 15 April 2015 (EDT)

If you moved your user page, it would not match your username any more, so I'm not sure why you would ever want to. --abates (talk) 16:32, 15 April 2015 (EDT)

But would you be allowed?Tfus183crosscut (talk) 17:08, 15 April 2015 (EDT)

If you move your user page to a different name, it's no longer your user page because it's not linked to your name. So I guess you'd lose ownership over it and it would be deleted or someone would move it back. I should point out Wikipedia does not have a policy on user page moves because they would not make sense to do. --abates (talk) 17:24, 15 April 2015 (EDT)

Use of images on user pages (aside from or instead of the single user uploaded one)

Is there a guideline about the usage of other images from the wiki on user pages? If it is allowed are there limits? This seems to be an obvious omission from this policy. --Khajidha (talk) 15:27, 2 September 2019 (EDT)

I have the same question. Also, should the user page be written from a RL perspective, or is fanfiction allowed for describing yourself? For example, could I say I am a Transformer in some way? Or talk about what I would do in the show? Or just real life stuff?--Oshenwave (talk) 12:42, 29 June 2020 (EDT)

Is there a way to delete or change the name of your account?

My apologies if this is in the wrong section of the wiki, but this is a genuine question I had, that I couldn't seem to find an answer to.
