Gameplay
Notes
Continuity notes
- Battlegrounds is set in an alternate version of the Cyberverse cartoon continuity; although it picks up where "Eruption" left off, it is otherwise largely irreconcilable with the events of that show's second season. A conversation between Arcee and Wheeljack suggests that this game takes place in one of the many alternate universes that the Cyberverse cartoon repeatedly alluded to over the course of its second and third seasons.
- None of the Autobots understand why Teletraan-X kidnapped a human to be their commander. Somehow, the Decepticons never notice them despite the amount of Seekers fought during the game.
Transformers references
- Windblade namedrops Ratchet during her first transmission to Bumblebee.
- Ramjet and Dirge are depicted as redecoes of the male Seeker design, rather than their distinct conehead designs used in the show itself.
- Blackjack, Hyperdrive, and Dead End all use the Scout model, while Roadtrap, Battletrap, and Offroad use the Bruiser model. The Scout appears to be based off Generation 1 Dead End's original toy, while the Bruisers are based on Offroad's Combiner Wars toy. We're reaching the return of Combiner Wars redecoing frenzies, folks.
