Ho ho ho, I'm hu-hu-hungry!

The monstrous hooligan known as Dreadbot is a tough, destructive thug who's hard to control and even harder to kill. His massive frame can slice through walls and protects him from virtually any known ammunition known to humans.[1] It seems a little weird that Dreadbot transforms into such a stereotypical symbol of peace and love, but maybe he's just got a sense of humor—check out those Christmas lights.

Fiction

The Last Knight film

Dreadbot was among the Decepticons in T.R.F.'s custody, having been incarcerated after committing a "bank robbery" that ended with nine people dead and the money behind untouched. He was one of the Decepticons whose release was negotiated by Megatron to help him hunt down Cade Yeager. Human lawyers initially denied Dreadbot's release, most likely due to the murders he committed. However, Megatron's threat of violence convinced them to reconsider and free him, provided he was fitted with a GPS tracking device.

Dreadbot followed his leader to Yeager's scrap yard, and then to a nearby town, but they were met with some not-quite-unexpected resistance in the form of the Autobots Bumblebee, Drift, and Crosshairs. During the ensuing fight, Grimlock arrived on the scene and began thrashing Megatron around. As a reward for running in to help his leader, Dreadbot found himself getting eaten by Grimlock. Notes

What is likely Dreadbot concept art, from Josh Nizzi's Instagram account.
  • Dreadbot reuses Crowbar's robot-mode model with modifications, like the aforementioned Christmas lights wrapped around his upper right arm and the Volkswagen kibble replacing the whatever-the-hell-appendages that were dragging behind Crowbar's back.
  • Probably related to the above, set reports from the film identified him as "Hooligan", the name found on Crowbar's concept art from Dark of the Moon.
  • Dreadbot's rusty old Volkswagen Microbus altmode was one of the first vehicles spotted on set, though he is the only one of the main Decepticon crew not seen transforming on-screen.
  • According to his TRF prisoner dossier bio, Dreadbot wields a distinctive Cybertronian firearm that obliterates its targets.
  • According to Josh Nizzi's Instagram account,[2] Dreadbot is a member of the Dreads.
