He learned Thrust can be green.

Sam Smith is the current Hasbro Design Manager (and de facto design lead, as far as we can tell) on the Studio Series, Masterpiece, and mainline Generations (the War for Cybertron Trilogy, Legacy, etc) toylines. Whether by choice or as a practical consequence of the sheer breadth of modern Generations product, he seemingly utilizes a more horizontal command structure than past Generations leads, taking point on the primary live-action film series component of the Studio Series line and largely leaving the more traditional Generation 1 flavored fare to designers Mark Maher and Evan Brooks. Smith's status as the resident gearhead of the design team may or may not constitute an ulterior motive for this particular division of labor. He used to work on Star Wars.
