The Jedi are a religious organization of warriors who worship a bioenergy field known as the "Force". For millennia, they have guarded the Galactic Republic against such threats as the Sith, their monastic rivals. Like the Sith, they draw on the Force for strength and skill, but unlike the Sith, they use the "light side" of the Force, which advocates a detached emotional center, and listening to the Force to discover the proper course of action.
Like the Sith, they do not seem to employ mechs very much, but their use of the Force has proven to be a considerable advantage in combat, seemingly making it unneccessary.
