Use the template {{notareference}} on a new user's talk page when they've cited a mind-numbingly unlikely "reference" to previous Transformers fiction, pop culture, or that fanfic they wrote that Aaron Archor totally liked.

Two things may have some kind of vague, remote, or tiny similarity, but that alone does not a reference make. We try to avoid grasping at straws here.
