I guess you could say that I am a fiction-purist. I get the most enjoyment out of taking the fiction as it is presented to me, "mistakes" and all. I tend to regard extra-fictional explanations and clarifications of fictional events by the creators (in blogs and such) as noise. At best they are sometimes spoilers for events I would rather have seen in future fiction. At worst I mentally dismiss such statements as their personal canon, even though they are the creators.
That's just me. I suppose every fan has their quirks. I won't let it affect my wiki editing.
Examples
- Blurr is very much unambiguously dead.
- Rodimus' status is unknown, but I fear the worst.
- Starscream's ship in The Reign of Starscream is a Nemesis because it was named as such in Ghosts of Yesterday.
- It is also the Nemesis because it looks exactly the same in Defiance issue 4, it is crashed near Earth, and Starscream hangs out there.
I also have a high regard for character bios.
- Jazz survived and was rebuilt. Sometime. Perhaps far in the future?
- Sunstorm is a raving madbot bent on destruction. The Sycophant Starscream is therefore a different clone altogether.
Trans-locational Transformers
A trans-locational Transformers can separate into two or more independently animated parts, while still being one Transformer. This list includes components that could more accurately be considered remote-controlled drones, but the distinction is sometimes fuzzy so I included them all because I wanted to.
- Optimus Prime (Brain Center, Combat Deck, Roller)
- Ironhide / Ratchet (Sled)
- Laserbeak (Laser cannons)
- Reflector[1] (Spectro, Spyglass, Viewfinder)
- Omega Supreme (rocket, tank, and base)
- Sky Lynx (Lynx, bird-thing)
- Motormaster (Roller car)
- Duocons
- Battletrap (Truck, helicopter)
- Flywheels (Howitzer, fighter jet)
- Metroplex (Six-Gun, Slammer, Scamper)
- Trypticon (Full-Tilt, Brunt, Wipe-Out)
- Fortress Maximus (Cog)
- Scorponok (Fasttrack)
- Crosscut (Clutch)
- Dreadwing (Smokescreen)
- Scorponok (Cyberbee)
- Magmatron (Landsaur, Seasaur, Skysaur)
- Tow-Line (sled)
- Arcee[2] (Arcee, Chromia, purple chick)
- Reflector, (Spectro, Spyglass, and Viewfinder)
