The X-Dimension is an alternate universe paralleling the Armada cartoon in the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

The X-Dimension is an alternate universes that parallels the Transformers Armada cartoon series.

Virtually nothing is known about the X-Dimension, beyond the fact that in 2003 30 Japanese-exclusive Mini-Cons were released in "X-Dimension" colors, representing their appearance in that universe.

At one point there were plans for a comic which would have paralleled the events of the Armada cartoon in this universe, but from the Mini-Cons' perspective.[1]

Legacy

  • In 2003/2004 a 13-part mini-comic story titled "Linkage" was produced as a pack-in for the Japanese Micron Legend (Armada) DVD-release. It retold the Armada conflict from the perspective of the Mini-Cons... but in the mainline cartoon continuity, not an alternate universe. It may be that X-Dimension project was dropepd in favor of "Linkage" when Takara realized that the Armada cartoon was borderline incoherent a bit messy in places and needed someone to bat clean-up for it more than they needed an alternate-universe retelling.
  • 2005 introduced Planet X, a world from an alternate universe which paralleled the Armada cartoon before majorly diverging around the finale of the subsequent series. This could (conceivably) be the X-Dimension, or a at least, given the name, a nod to the concept.
Shattered Glass Micromaster Nightstick's appearance is based on the 2003 X-Dimension Prowl toy.
  • Beginning in 2009, several of the X-Dimension Mini-Con toys were repurposed to represent unrelated characters from the Shattered Glass "mirror universe." This was likely a deliberate homage to the X-Dimension toys representing characters from an alternate universe... but Shattered Glass universe itself is not the X-Dimension.
