Revision as of 17:38, 27 November 2009

Transformers Wiki participates in Hasbro's roughly-every-other-month Question & Answer session. Our site will be allowed to submit three questions to Hasbro's Transformers team for answering. If you're a registered user at our site, please add your question below!

Keep in mind that Hasbro is not likely to tell us about future product they are not ready to reveal, so the odds of such questions being selected are nil. However, there are still plenty of other things to ask them about! Go wild!

Please be as thoughtful about your question as possible. We will reject questions like, "Hasbro, why do you suck so much?" or "Hasbro will you talk shit about one of your licensees?" The better and more useful the question, the more likely the admins will choose it to be one of the three submitted. We also reserve the right to edit your question for clarity if need be.

Each registered user can ask one question at this time. Please bullet and sign your question. The deadline for your questions is the evening of Sunday, November 29th, and answers will be sent back on (approximately) December 14th. If you're a registered member and for some reason you can't edit this page, ask your question on the discussion page, then I or Walky will move it here.

December 2009 questions

  • When the Constructicons formed Devastator in Revenge of the Fallen, the film showed two unnamed construction vehicles helping to form Devastator that aren't seen anywhere else. There's a yellow dump truck that's not the same kind of dump truck that Long Haul is, and there's a tiny treaded shovel that forms Devastator's left hand. Do you guys have names for these two Constructicons? If not, could you make some up for us right now? --ItsWalky 00:27, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • It's understood that Hasbro now owns the intellectual property related to the Tonka GoBots - Is it possible that the GoBots stories could one day be retroactively integrated into TF continuity, much as M.A.S.K. was retroactively inserted into GIJoe's via the Matt Trakker figure? -hx 01:36, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • If we are going to ask this, may I suggest changing it to "the core intellectual property"? IIRC from our previous discussion of copyright notices on in-era GoBots products and media, we concluded that Hasbro likely inherited everything from Kenner but the the cartoon, and I'd hate to see that legal sticking point get in the way of receiving a useful answer. -Derik 16:00, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • Great question, I'd love to hear their official stance. --Jimsorenson 16:51, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • Was that Stratosphere that Optimus Prime rolled out from at the beginning of Revenge of the Fallen? - Starfield
  • There was a large amount of talk about a fan preference for an Animated straight to DVD movie. Has Hasbro/CN ever considered producing one? ---Eire
  • Have Hasbro ever considered revisiting/creating more unique forms of combinations for combiners? (Such as RiD Landfill's, Rail Racer's G1 Devastator's construction, or the unseen 15 Micromaster concept from ages ago) Metal Gear NOIZE 10:28, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • Is there any chance of a GI Joe based Transformers Crossovers toyline? This seems like an obvious opportunity that has been overlooked. Khajidha 11:36, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • Has Hasbro considered revisiting some of the interesting concepts we got during G1, like Reflector's unique transformation, or the Headmasters? ---Blackout- 12:08, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • We know that due to changes in toy safety laws, we're never getting a realistic hand-gun Megatron ever again. We've heard that the "spark-shooting" action found on some G1 toys is a similar situation. Can you confirm that the spark-shooting feature is no longer a possibility? Are there any other "classic" gimmicks we're unlikely to see in the future because of legal/safety concerns? --Bluestreak7 13:33, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • What was the particular Hasbro contribution to ROTF production? Besides cash, of course. - Leo Primus
  • A previous Hasbro Q&A established that, despite some color confusion with the toys, Revenge of the Fallen Rampage was the red bulldozer in the film. Does the yellow bulldozer who appears onscreen simultaneously also have a name? (e.g. "Skipjack," the name which the movie's credits mistakenly ascribe to red/Rampage?) -Derik 16:00, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • The company which syndicated the original Transformers cartoon, Claster, was a Hasbro subsidiary that has since been merged into Hasbro's media division. Since their records would now be completely in-house at Hasbro, would it be possible to get a list of the TV stations that broadcasted the original Transformers cartoon? Or barring that, the number of stations that broadcast it? --Tigerpaw28 16:42, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • I applaud the geeky uselessness of this question. "We know it doesn't affect anything, but we still want to know!" It fill me with nerd pride. -Derik 16:45, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • Given Hasbro's recent efforts to re-acquire the rights to many of their classic cartoon properties, is there a chance any of those cartoons will see air on the forthcoming Hasbro/Discovery Joint Venture Network? (Also: Does that thing have a more final name yet, or a less awkward working name?) -Derik 16:45, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • How much input does Hasbro have into the design of the Transformers toys which fast food chains occasionally offer? There have occasionally been some oddities, such as the recent Burger King version of Revenge of the Fallen Soundwave being based on the military satellite from the film, rather than Soundwave himself. --abates 17:00, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • Funny thing about this question, I tried asking that in another forum but I got slagged by a question related to "ROTF controversy", which obviously Hasbro did not answers. I second this question, but I have to add this: Did Hasbro had something to do with the startling resemblance of the Mexican Transformers Happy Meal toys to the Jumpstarters from G1 (Topspin and Twin Twist)?ACIDSTORM92 20:39, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • Considering the popularity of Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones and MegaBloks HALO toys, has Hasbro considered reviving the Built To Rule line in such a fashion for the Transformers and GIJoe franchises? --Detour 17:15, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • As we know, Sideswipe has appeared in Revenge of the Fallen. Is there a chance of his brother Sunstreaker appearing in the third movie, or at least getting a toy in a toyline relating to the live action films?TFgirl 19:36, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • What was the originally planned third mode for Beast Wars Transmetal II Tigerhawk that would have made use of the wheels on top of his wings? --FortMax 22:08, 24 November 2009 (EST)
  • Could you shed some light on the identities of toys (e.g. Attacktix Thrust who were apparently intended to be existing characters, but never got far enough along to be positively connected to an existing character? --Andrusi 17:30, 25 November 2009 (EST)
  • Theres a bonecrusher look-a-like in ROTF, so i was wondering if theres any plans for make a toy of the bonecrusher look-a-like --Eagc7 27 November 2009 (EST)
  • What is the current situation involving Animated Voyagers such as Hydrodive Bumblebee and Blackout? If you are unable to comment, could you at least give us a hint at when Rodimus Minor is coming? Gearshift 12:38, 27 November 2009 (EST)
