Antarctica is the massive, ice-covered continent at the southern pole of planet Earth. Several battles in the various Transformer wars have taken place there.

A United Nations monitoring station in Antartica was destroyed when the Decepticons began drilling for oil there. The loss of the station was noticed by the Autobots and the Multiforce went to investigate, leading to a battle with Liokaiser that was observed by a small group of survivors from the station. As the battle raged on, the survivors found themselves adrift on a slab of ice, and it wasn't until more Autobots arrived that they were rescued by Boater. The Predacons set a trap for the Autobots in Antarctica, stealing diamonds from a mine. To their surprise, instead of the expected Autobot Brothers, the Build Team turned up instead. Sky-Byte took their leader, Wedge captive, trading the young bot for a disk supposedly containing the plans for the Autobot Global Space Bridge which was promptly stolen by one of the many penguins inhabiting the continent. When the Mini-Cons were spread out over Earth in the ancient past, Jetstorm ended up in Antarctica. Much later, groups of Autobots and Decepticons went out to retrieve him, and clashed in the icy terrain. Soldier

Antarctica was the second Decepticon staging ground. The Autobot strike force encountered an abandoned human encampment and a large icebreaker ship, and had their first of two battles with Starscream.
