Daina is a human from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Daina, Oktober Guard One, is a member of the Soviet Union's daring, highly trained special mission force, the Oktober Guard.

Daina was flying a top secret jet and was forced to eject when it was attacked and captured by a submarine. The Soviet government initially blamed the incident on the United States of America, bringing tensions between the two superpowers to their highest point since the Cuban Missile Crisis. However, the jet had in fact been stolen by renowned trophy hunter Lord Chumley, which was later revealed by Optimus Prime. Prime Target

The Oktober Guard are the Russian counterpart to G.I. Joe, created for the Joe comic books, and later appearing in three episodes of the Sunbow G.I. Joe cartoon. The inclusion of the Guard in "Prime Target" is a result of the fact that it was written by G.I. Joe cartoon story editors Flint Dille and Buzz Dixon.

Solely by virtue of being female, this pilot can presumably be considered to be the lone named female member of the team (at the time), Daina, seen as she appeared in the Joe cartoon in the image at right. Hirofumi Ichikawa agreed with this analysis, identifying the character as Daina in the fact booklet included with Pioneer's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers 2010 DVD set.
