Spike now knows how Dudley Do-Right feels.

Carly first met Spike and Bumblebee at the Robots Video Arcade. Although Spike was younger than her by a year [1] and not nearly as bright (Carly was attending MIT while Spike still wasn't even old enough to drive), she became immediately intrigued by him and his friendship with the Autobots. After befriending crusty old Ironhide, and helping save the Autobots from the threat of the Immobilizer, she was accepted as their new human buddy. The Immobilizer

Carly and Spike later went on a dangerous mission to Cybertron to retrieve more Cybertonium, an element the Autobots needed to survive. Carly's technical know-how once again proved useful as she, Spike and the Dinobots outwitted Shockwave and stole some Cybertonium. She was very impressed with Cybertron's design and layout. Unfortunately, the trip had several drawbacks. Shockwave disintigrated her car (Decepticreep!) and she twisted her ankle. Desertion of the Dinobots, Part 2

By the year 2006, she and Spike, who had become Earth's ambassador to Cybertron, had married and had a son, Daniel. The family attended the first Galactic Olympics together, from which Spike was abducted by the Quintessons, along with Ultra Magnus and Kup. Five Faces of Darkness, Part 1

When Daniel and Grimlock wandered off from a diplomatic function on Cybertron, and found themselves in the alternate dimension of Menonia, Carly insisted on accompanying the Autobots who went after them. Madman's Paradise

Scramble City OVA

(Note: the events of the Japanese-exclusive Scramble City OVA take place between the second season of the US television series and Transformers: the Movie.)

Carly can be seen working with Spike, Sparkplug and Chip on Autobot City.

Headmasters anime

Apparently, doing anything constructive with her degree from MIT wasn't a priority for Carly, as she became strictly a doting housewife by 2011. Her new duties included: serving coffee, worrying about things, and getting injured so that men could rescue her.

However, it's nothing to get upset about because, as we all know, Japan has the utmost respect for women.

Headmasters manga

Carly appeared in the last issue of the manga, strolling the beach with her family and Autobot friends shortly after the defeat of Mega Zarak. After Soundblaster attacked, Carly was taken hostage by Slugfest and Overkill until she was rescued by Daniel.

Dreamwave comics

Carly appeared as Spike's wife in two issues.
