The Rite of the Deceptibrand is a ritual from the Transformers Animated continuity family.

The Rite of the Deceptibrand[1] is a ritual that is used by the Decepticons and involves branding their symbol into a new Transformer after an oath of loyalty is given. The branding is not exactly a painless procedure.

Animated cartoon

Once the Constructicons had proven their use, Megatron allowed them to undergo the Rite of the Deceptibrand to make them true Decepticons. The oath went as follows:

I pledge my unquestioning loyalty to Megatron and the Decepticon cause. I shall devote my spark to achieving our goal of a Decepticon controlled Cybertron, by any means necessary. And annihilate all who have driven us from our rightful homeworld. Surrender is not an option.

Mixmaster and Scrapper recited the oath of loyalty, in response to which Megatron branded them with the Decepticon insignia. A Bridge Too Close, Part I
