If you want a theory: the phase shifter attaches to a Transformer's wrist and phases out all "Transformer matter" in continuous contact with it. So Smokescreen phased through the Apex Armor and came in contact with Starscream forming a continuous link of "Transformer matter" which phased both Smokescreen and Starscream all the way through the Apex Armor. - [[User:Starfield|Starfield]] 16:30, 8 September 2012 (EDT)

Explanation

I think Smokescreen may have slowly deactivated the phase shifter as he kicked though the Apex Armor. That is, assuming it works that way, which we don't know --75.82.9.197 14:08, 8 September 2012 (EDT)

We don't know how the Phase Shifter is designed to work. Therefore, I do not think we can call what happened on screen a "continuity error." What happened on screen is just how the Phase Shifter operates. - Starfield 16:30, 8 September 2012 (EDT)
