The Scientist's version of the sniper rifle is named the Photon Burst Rifle. It has a more effective zoom than the Battle Pistol and delivers three photons per round.

The Photon Burst Rifle was used by Scientist-class Transformers, including Silverbolt, during the Great War. War for Cybertron

A later model of the photon burst rifle was still available later in the war during the time leading up to the launch of the Ark. Fall of Cybertron

- Additionally it can be upgraded at Teletraan-1 terminals with ion cartridges (increasing ammo per clip), hyper interlink (speeding up reload time), tachyon transmitter (increasing foot speed in aiming mode) and photon accelerators (to enable auto-fire and decrease time between bursts).
