The name or term "Alpha Trion" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Alpha Trion (disambiguation).
Alpha Trion is an Autobot from the Transformers Animated continuity family.
"I'm Alpha Trion!"

Billions of stellar cycles before the Decepticon movement had even been conceived, Alpha Trion fought in countless Cybertronian battles. He is, perhaps, the oldest Transformer anybody knows. These days, however, Alpha Trion is just a civilian, serving as the head of the Guilds Domesticus in the Autobot High Council. In this role he presents a constant challenge to Sentinel Prime, reminding the arrogant Elite Guardsman that the Guild is in charge of the military, and not the other way around. Sentinel disagrees with the ancient bot, feeling that he's simply been out of combat for too long to be relevant.

In 2010 Hasbro introduced a retcon naming Alpha Trion as a member of the Thirteen original Transformers, and thus a likely multiversal singularity (meaning, basically, that all Alpha Trions in the multiverse would be the same individual). Due to the lengthy histories many of these incarnations had prior to the retcon we have opted to leave their pages as separate entities, and merely note the retcon on each individual page. For the Alpha Trion that is definitively one of the 13 see: Alpha Trion (Prime)

Alpha Trion was present at the council meeting where Ultra Magnus announced that the likely coordinated attacks on space bridges by the Decepticons were the work of a spy in their midst. He gave Longarm Prime an odd look when the security director rather abruptly demanded that all communications from Optimus Prime's crew on Earth be filtered through him, "no exceptions". TransWarped

Use the Force, Luke.

Alpha Trion, Perceptor and Cliffjumper had a "council" talk regarding how they didn't want Sentinel Prime as commander. During Sentinel's parade through a Cybertronian city with Blitzwing and the Starscream clones, Alpha Trion and Perceptor seemed less than impressed by the temporary Magnus's attitude. Decepticon Air

Alpha Trion was given his first real assessment of Sentinel Prime's ability to lead when Omega Supreme appeared over the capital city under the control of Megatron. Sentinel advocated that they attack immediately and end the threat of Megatron at once. However, Ratchet, Omega's former mentor-bot, in the company of a small organic, said that Omega had absorbed so much transwarp energy that destroying the huge Autobot could take Cybertron with him. Alpha Trion announced that the High Council would deliberate on its options. Ratchet, however, broke out in an attempt to make contact with Omega Supreme, and Sentinel Prime diverted all essential energon to Fortress Maximus, ultimately firing on Omega Supreme, who transwarped away. After that, Alpha Trion made sure that it was known that Ratchet and the organic were the real heroes of the day, and reprimanded Sentinel for disregarding the Council's authority. Sentinel shot back that he'd repeat his actions again if it meant saving Cybertron, and Alpha Trion made his position very clear: if it were up to him, Sentinel would never get that chance.
