- The Insectrons are a Maximal subgroup from the Beast Wars II portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
The Insectrons are a horde of robot insects who fled Cybertron to escape the many wars that never seemed to end. They found refuge on the planet Gaia, and were at peace for a time, until Galvatron and his Predacons arrived. They now reluctantly side with Leo Prime and the Maximals against their common foe.
