BotCon 2014 was held in Pasadena, California, from June 19 to June 22, 2014.
Run-up
- On September 3, 2013, Autobot City Comics 2008 from the TFW2005 message boards reported that a Pasadena Convention Center employee confirmed that BotCon would be there from June 19 through June 22 of the following year. Despite complete silence on the issue from Fun Publications, hotel blocks sold out immediately.
- On December 24, the official website went up, confirming the date and location.
- On February 6, BotCon Twitter asked Who Is Squirm?
- February 7 — BotCon revealed the first toy over Twitter: Cannonball from Prime Ratchet.
- On February 10, BotCon tweeted a sketch of the Captain's Navigator on Twitter.
- On February 27, BotCon announced that Susan Blu, Hal Rayle, and Michael McConnohie would be attending this year's convention.
- On March 6, BotCon announced that Jack Angel would be attending this year's convention.
- On March 10, Ferak was revealed.
- On March 13, BotCon announced that Samantha Newark would be attending.
- On March 18, Tornado's Facebook page was launched.
- On March 20, Derrick Wyatt and Marty Isenberg were announced as guests.
- On March 24, Devcon was revealed.
- On March 27, David Kaye was announced as a guest.
- On March 31, BotCon's Twitter feed asked "Who is Olin?" along with some uncolored line art.
- On April 2, Olin's last name was revealed to be Zarak. A colored image appeared on Tornado's Facebook page.
- On April 3, Decepticon Pirate Scorponok was revealed.
- On April 4, James Roberts was announced as a guest.
- On April 21, Cybertronian Knight Ginrai was revealed.
- On April 22, the official brochure went up on the BotCon site.
- On April 24, cast and crew from Transformers: Rescue Bots were announced as guests.
- On May 9, preregistration went up, as well as images of the box set art, t-shirt, and hat.
