The name or term "Ramjet" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Ramjet (disambiguation).
Ramjet is a Decepticon from the Unicron Trilogy continuity family (via the 2003 Universe series).
He comes from the Kirbyverse.

Ramjet was once Unicron's most dangerous herald, able to use his inter-dimensional link to Unicron's essence to impress cruel reality-warping punishment on his victims. His Unicron-powered guidance systems allowed him to travel not only from dimension to dimension but in the chaotic cosmic fabric between them.

But when Unicron's physical form imploded at the end of the Powerlinx Battles and collapsed into a grand Black Hole, Ramjet was abandoned between dimensions, lost in the timeless non-space that glues the multiverse together.

He was not alone in this netherdimension. An ancient evil that surpassed even Unicron's powers toyed with his spark, destroying and recreating his existence for fun, until finally they got tired of him and returned him to the universe.

Due to the torture inflicted on him by this ancient evil, Ramjet is always in a state of being and unbeing. It is only through sheer force of will that he is able to hold himself together. As a result, although Ramjet's powers are so great that his mere existence can corrupt the reality around him, mentally he's not quite all there.

Fiction

Cybertron comic

The narration is pretty impressed with me!

After the Transformers had abandoned Cybertron in order to flee the Unicron Singularity, Ramjet, his Mini-Con partners, and Nemesis Prime appeared through a portal and descended upon the planet, intent on its destruction. They first landed in Iacon, near Maccadam's Old Oil House, in search of potential pawns. Unfortunately, they only found Crush Groove and Jackhammer. The two were deemed useless and destroyed. Ramjet agreed with Nemesis Prime that the remaining Cybertronians were not likely to be of help, and so he suggested they pay a visit to Alpha Trion unaided.

Alpha Trion was found in his chamber (where he guarded Vector Sigma) beside Vector Prime and Sentinel Maximus, two Transformers who had been sent through dimensions to aid Alpha Trion in this moment of crisis. While Nemesis dealt with Sentinel, Ramjet clashed swords with Vector Prime. As Ramjet fended off Vector Prime's blows with one arm, the other fired a beam of uncreation at Alpha Trion and Vector Sigma, leaving them in a state of severe disrepair. Having accomplished enough, Ramjet, Nemesis, and the Mini-Cons fled. Balancing Act

Well, this all makes sense to me!

Ramjet and Nemesis recruited some Scrapmetal to help locate Primus's essence, as they had instinctual knowledge of Cybertron's structures. Regardless, Nemesis had questions. Why were they going through all this trouble if Unicron was already dead? Ramjet explained that so long as there is evil, Unicron still technically exists. Before, Unicron was only capable of destroying one universe at a time, since he was bound to a physical form, but ironically now that Unicron was dead due to the Unicron Singularity, the Chaos Bringer never had a better chance of true, all-encompassing victory. Since the Unicron Singularity was bleeding through to other dimensions, all Ramjet and Nemesis Prime had to do was use Nemesis Prime's Dead Matrix to kill Primus, and then feed Cybertron itself through the Singularity. This would destroy Primus in every universe, and the Unicron Singularity would replicate itself everywhere, swallowing all creation in the multiverse. Unicron's goal would be achieved, despite (and because of) his death. Balancing Act, Part 2

As Dark Scorponok ravaged the planet, Ramjet told the story of his cruel affliction to an enthralled audience of Scrapmetal. When he finished, Ramjet's Mini-Con Thunder Clash arrived with a delivery: Skyfall! Balancing Act, Part 3 Though Skyfall was not exactly who Ramjet suspected he was, Ramjet nonetheless found him useful. Skyfall was desperate to learn more about his forgotten past, and Ramjet dangled the possibility of learning more about it before him. Skyfall agreed to help Ramjet achieve his objective, under the condition that Ramjet would then answer his questions. The location of Primus' essence had been revealed by the Scrapmetal's computer work, and so everyone departed.

Ramjet found Downshift guarding the Spark Core Access Tunnels deep below Iacon, and the small Autobot was easily dispatched. Nemesis Prime pinned him to the wall with one of his blades, where the two told him to await his uncreation. But Downshift was no longer Primus' only guardian; Vector Prime and Sentinel Maximus had become wise to their scheme and met the two in battle. Balancing Act, Part 4 Ramjet told Nemesis to go on without him and use the Dead Matrix while he handed their opponents. Vector Prime sent Sentinel after Nemesis, as Ramjet was too horrible and dangerous a foe for him, and Vector Prime and Ramjet once again clashed swords.

"Don't kill my evil friend! He's my ride home!"

Their one-on-one battle took itself out of Cybertron's chambers, through the surface of the planet, and up into orbit. Ramjet offered Vector Prime another option: it was within Vector Prime's power to restore Unicron from the Singularity, dooming this Cybertron but saving all others. Vector Prime refused, claiming that they could restore balance to the multiverse without saving Unicron. But, at that moment, Vector Prime's point was moot. Below, within Primus' Spark Chamber, Nemesis Prime had exposed Primus' essence to the Dead Matrix... Balancing Act, Pt 5

Still, Vector Prime would not be deterred. He called upon his Cyber Key Power and blasted Ramjet with Primus' power. Skyfall, however, who watched from afar, feared for the life of Ramjet, who was the only key to his past. Skyfall stood between Ramjet and Vector Prime, begging for the life of the former. But it was too late. Though Ramjet was immortal, Vector Prime was able to contain him, and the whispering remains of Ramjet's unstable form slipped through the cracks of reality into the nothingness between. Toys

For comic-accuracy: 1) buy propane fire lighter, 2) melt parts of your Ramjet toy, 3) plan to never sell him.
  • Ramjet w/ Thunderclash, Gunbarrel, Thunderwing & Terradive (Toys "R" Us, 2004)
    • Accessories: Sword/wing, 2 missiles
A redeco of the Armada Skywarp toy which is a retool of the Armada Starscream mold, Ramjet transforms into a Cybertronic jet fighter. In both modes, pressing down on his cockpit canopy activates electronic sound effects; in jet mode this can also deploy any Swindle-mold Mini-Con stored under the cockpit, although Ramjet did not come with one. Instead, he came with the plane Mini-Cons Thunderclash, Gunbarrel, Thunderwing and Terradive. Plugging a Mini-Con onto Ramjet's rearmost Powerlinx plug releases two spring-activated over-shoulder spring-loaded missile launchers, as well as more electronic sound effects. His left wing detaches and unfolds to form a large sword for use in robot mode.
The original mold was also used to make Armada Thundercracker.

Cybertron

I can fight Legends Class Vector Prime!
  • Ramjet (Legends of Cybertron, 2005)
This Ramjet is a redeco of the Legends of Cybertron Starscream mold, transforming into a Cybertronic jet fighter. His wing-sections/biceps hide flip-out weapons: the right arm hides a blade, while the left arm has a non-firing cannon. The toy was initially available only as a free give-away at BotCon 2005. However, they were also given free to 12-and-under walk-ins at BotCon 2006 and finally the remaining stock was offered for sale in the Club Store.
This mold was also used the make Cybertron Skywarp and Sunstorm, Universe Ramjet and Thrust, War for Cybertron Starscream, and Dark of the Moon Cybertronian Starscream.
Although his coloration fits Universe Ramjet, and he was reportedly created due to that Ramjet's new role in the club comic, the toy included no bio and therefore could be any character named Ramjet, or even a brand new Ramjet... or any character named Skywarp, as that's who his instructions (presumably reused wholesale from San Diego Comic-Con Skywarp) declare him to be. For the purposes of this Wiki, however, he is assumed to be the same character as Universe Ramjet.
