War for Cybertron
During the War for Cybertron, Overshields were used in the many countless battles across the planet. They could be found floating, suspended by some unknown means, until a Transformer would pick them up and gain their special properties. During these selfsame battles, Scientists could also activate an Overshield Matrix after defeating enough opponents. Heavy soldiers, also called shotgunners in Escalation, also implemented overshields.
During some seemingly endless battles, Overshields could be purchased from special stations for 250 Energon Points. They could also be found in crates hidden behind doors that require Energon Points to activate also.
During Optimus, Warpath, and Ironhide's mission to the core of Cybertron, the Decepticons had set a trap for the Autobots, disguising EMP grenades as Overshields! Warpath was very eager to take one, but Optimus warned him it may be a trap. Transformers: War for Cybertron (360/PS3/PC)
Notes
- Overshields are scattered all across the campaign in breakable crates, emblazoned with a "shield" icon. Also, you may sometimes find overshields in Escalation, and not have to buy them.
