A day before Fig was scheduled to return home on leave from Qatar, U.S. SOCCENT Forward Operations Base was suddenly under seige by the Decepticon Blackout. As one of the few survivors of the attack, he, Sergeant Donnelly, Sergeant Epps, and the remainder of the soldiers under the command of Captain William Lennox wandered through the desert looking for a way to contact their superiors.

Hey, you're not going to feel me up like you did Epps, right?

Suddenly, they were all under attack from a strange metal creature named Scorponok. After it speared Donnely, one of Scorponok's missile blasts grazed Fig. After the military was contacted and Scorponok was repelled, Fig was carried off on a stretcher and evacuated by helicopter. Trivia

• A later scene possibly involving Figueroa was cut from the theatrical release of the film, as the trailer from December 2006 briefly shows a scene where Lennox is comforting an injured soldier who is mostly off-camera. Considering the only other soldier in the unit harmed during Scorponok's attack (Donnelly) was actually killed, its likely the person in this scene was Fig.
