Optimus Prime is the Autobot leader in Unicron Trilogy continuity.
Dreamwave Continuity
Optimus Prime is the leader of the Autobot forces. He does not have a silly hat.
Prime is angsty and thoughtful in Dreamwave Continuity, not liek the warmonger 'we must destroy the Decepticons' Prime in the Cartoon. He has another head inside his stomach, which is odd 'cuz it's used for his combined form, which he's granted by the Mini-con Matrix, and he's totally surprised when it happens, like he'd never noticed "I have a head in my tummy!"
Like many Dreamwave characters, Optimus Prime has an unhealthy love of decompressed storyelling, and tended to go on long-languising adventures in other dimensions and alien gods for 6 issues at a time, while the same battle was raging back home.
The really cool thing about Optimus Prime is that he sported these cool colors for ten whole years in Dreamwave continuity, and Black toys are cool! Sadly, he got into all kinda of hippie 'communing with the planet' bullshit after that and let himself go, becoming enormously fat.
He was last seen trapped within Unicron.
