Springer (G1)
- Springer is an Autobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.
Springer is the archetypical rogue; handy in a fight, always ready with a helping hand or a joke to lighten the situation. You can depend on him to ride in and save the day- and be smug about it. There's no better 'bot to have at your back in a fight, but Springer shuns responsibility for other- he likes it when life is simple, and all he has to do is be a goodish guy.
Springer combines the thrusting power of his legs with his retro thrusters to move rapidly through the battlefield, leaping tall structures in a single bound. He is armed with a pair of neutron plasma pulsators in his shoulders, and a sword formed by his helicopter blades. He also keeps a holdout blaster concealed in his right wrist.
Springer prefers watching his own skin and lending a hand to friends where he can. Actually being responsible for other weighs heavily upon his otherwise jocular personality. The metallic structure of Springer's sword is very strong in a cutting direction, but it can completely break is struck the wrong way, leaving him both disarmed and landbound until he can effect repairs.
Springer ascended to lead the Wreckers in many continuities. He has twice been named as Rodimus Prime's successor to take the matrix and lead the Autobots, though neither one actually came off.
