The Copy Machine (コピーマシン Kopī Mashin) is a device left by the former inhabitants of Gaia. It has the ability to create mostly monochromatic copies of beings, usually making them evil.

The Copy Machine was created by Starscream as a trap for the Autobots; Bound Rogue found it in ancient ruins and brought it to the Autobot base after using its power to duplicate a mountain. The machine was subsequently used on Lio Convoy, producing the evil Lio Convoy Black Version. The Secret of Lio Convoy Black Version's Birth!?

• It's unclear if the Robotmasters incarnation of the Copy Machine is meant to be the same device as the one shown in Beast Wars II; its full origins in the latter were not elaborated on beyond being an artifact of Gaia's former civilzation. The relevance of the Robotmasters blurb to the greater Japanese Generation 1 canon is dubious.
