Kre-O comic

Grimlock had himself a hearty laugh when Megatron attempted to replicate Optimus Prime's new clear-torso'd power-up via a see-through negligee. Wheeljack's Bizarre Invention! Optimus Power Up!?

Grimlock participated in an enormous battle against the Decepticons... until Optimus Prime began talking about the plot of the live-action film series to the audience. He quickly grew bored during his leader's monologue and attempted to order a pizza over the phone. The beeping caused by Grimlock dialing up the pizza place kept on interrupting Optimus when he tried to spoil the plot of the fourth film. Optimus settled with introducing Grimlock and the rest of the Dinobots. Then Grimlock's pizza arrived, and the fighting started up once again. Take Us to the Movies Take Us Through the Movies

Grimlock served as Optimus's mount as the two of them burst in on a bunch of Vehicons building the Galvatron Factory Battle set. Announcing that it was "Dinner Time!", Grimlock used a sort of tractor beam to draw his victims into his maw. He also got to stomp down on Lockdown, and kicked his head away. Grimlock went to game at the arcade, only to be infuriated over not being able to beat a particular game. As soon as he gave up the task, Fracture came along and beat the game with ease! This sent Grimlock into a rage, and he began to rampage across the arcade... until he spotted a Foosball table, and went to play with it instead. Arcade

Available only in the "Grimlock Unleashed" set, both the buildable Grimlock and the Grimlock Kreon are based on the Generation One looks of the character, despite the other Kreons on the set being based on their Age of Extinction versions. The Kreon comes with his Energo-Sword and two optional helmets, a Sideswipe-style one and a crown based on the time Grimlock led the Autobots. Unlike other Kreons, Grimlock has his faceplate painted on the figure face instead of added by the helmet.
This set popped up at ToysЯUs a few short weeks after the initial product without any advance warning... and retailed for a mere $25, despite the size of the set.

Notes

  • Like all non-toy robot Kreons in these comics, Grimlock is made from existing Kre-O parts. He uses Soundwave's helmet in black, seemingly with the "door-wing" backpack piece to replicate the original Grimlock's wings.
