Oh, that Wheeljack!

Synopsis

[edit]

Wheeljack has invented "Skeletron", an amazing... drink? pellet?... that gives Kreons "See-Through Power". Optimus Prime is thoroughly embarrassed by his new see-through torso, but Wheeljack insists he use this power to defeat the Decepticons, much to Optimus's confusion. Turns out that with this new power, one punch is now all it takes for Optimus to lay Megatron flat.

Back at the Decepticon base, Megatron throws a tantrum over his own desire for See-Through Power, commanding Knock Out to come up with something. The doctor's solution? Put Megatron in see-through clothes. More specifically, a pink see-through negligee. Optimus is a bit relieved to no longer have the most embarrassing look, and the Autobots all have a hearty laugh at a mortified Megatron.

Back at the Decepticon base again, Megatron knocks out Knock Out with one punch, prompting Vortex to declare "See-Through Power" amazing.

That boy ain't right.

Notes

[edit]
  • As per usual with this series, multiple Kreons appear in this story who do not exist as toys. While the human Kreons have unique heads, all of the robot Kreons use existing Kre-O parts in their builds.
  • "Skeletron", rendered スケルトロン (sukerutoron) in Japanese, is a bit of a pun on sukesuke, the Japanese word for "see-through".
  • "Skeletron" is also the name of one of the monster mini-figures in the Kre-O Cityville Invasion toyline. Coincidence? With Hayato Sakamoto's sense of humor, hard to tell.

Transformers references

[edit]
WHERE ARE THE CHEESE SANDWHICHES, LARRY?
  • The blonde human girl in the first panel with Sari, holding the fish, is a Kreon version of an unnamed crowdfiller character munching on a fish from the Armada episode "Carnival", who was designed after the title character of the Japanese comic strip Sazae-san (so that's what we've called her here). Sakamoto didn't specifically source her for inclusion from this one-second appearance (because dude, seriously), but rather from an explanatory sidebar in Legends of the Microns Year Book 2003 that called her out.
  • Wheeljack's desk has tiny versions of the unnamed invention from "Hoist Goes Hollywood" and the Wheeljack Instant Immobilizer on it.
  • This is, of course, an "ad" for the extra clear-plastic torso-pieces that come with the second-year Kre-O Transformers sets.
  • Though it's hard to tell since Optimus's torso is deco-less, he's in his Prime-styled Kreon body. The black hands and waist are a big giveaway.
