Thousands of years later, The Fallen sent the Decepticons to Earth to capture Sam Witwicky, the human boy who now possessed the knowledge and power contained within the AllSpark. It was hoped that the boy's knowledge would lead them to the lost Matrix of Leadership, which could activate the Star Harvester and revitalise the dying Cybertronian race.

Megatron and Starscream flew atop the pyramid, surveying the area as NEST/Autobot and Decepticon forces prepared for battle. When Megatron gave the order to attack, the Constructicons arrived, combined into Devastator and began clambering from a quarry onto the pyramid, while Megatron fended off a Jordanian Royal Air Force helicopter. It crashed near former Sector Seven agent Seymour Simmons, who used their radio to contact the United States Navy for assistance. Devastator climbed to the pyramid's peak and began sucking up the stones, uncovering the Star Harvester within.

Although the U.S.S. Kidd fired her experimental railgun, the harvester was exposed and The Fallen activated it with the Matrix of Leadership. The United States military unleashed everything it had in the area, but they were no match for The Fallen's awesome telekinetic powers, and only a blast from Optimus Prime, using parts donated by the late Jetfire, destroyed the harvester, taking part of the pyramid with it. {{storylink|Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (film)|Revenge of the Fallen}
